S.C.O.P.E. Inc.’s organisational ethos and service delivery framework are underpinned by beliefs in the:
- social model of disability;
- strengths based/solution focused approach;
- person centred approach;
- least restrictive alternative; and
- social role valorisation model.
Together these beliefs ensure that S.C.O.P.E. Inc.’s service delivery is holistic and this means that we do not look solely at providing support to the person’s disability but rather we look at the person as a unique individual and tailor support to best meet the needs and wants, aspirations and goals of the person taking into consideration other formal and informal care, supports and services.
As an organisation, S.C.O.P.E. Inc. uses a flexible, inclusive and evolving approach in person centred planning in order to meet the unique individual needs, goals and aspirations of people being supported by S.C.O.P.E. Inc. It is our policy that each person being supported by S.C.O.P.E. Inc. has in place systems and procedures for person centred planning that involves the person being supported by S.C.O.P.E. Inc. and their families/guardians. S.C.O.P.E. Inc. also supports and promotes the involvement of families in the support of the family member with a disability and recognises the importance of family relationships.
